About ICPCN

The International Children’s Palliative Care Network (ICPCN) is a worldwide network of individuals and agencies working with children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

ICPCN shares a vision that the total needs of life-limited children and their families should be met, to encompass physical, emotional, social, spiritual and developmental aspects of care.

HPCA is currently carrying out the day to day administration of ICPCN, and one of our key tasks is developing an “International Directory” of children’s palliative care professionals across the world.

So why not become part of the network of organisations and individuals working in children's palliative care from all over the world - it’s free to join!

Any organisation or individual working in the field of palliative care for children (paediatric palliative care) can join ICPCN. If you join as an organisation you can register with ICPCN’s International Directory – an invaluable online resource to aid communication and networking across the world. All members receive an online newsletter and you will also be able to submit your events, news and research to share with members and online visitors.

Membership of the Worldwide Palliative Care Alliance - WPCA

The ICPCN represents the voice of children on the Worldwide Palliative Care Alliance.  The WPCA is an alliance of national and regional hospice and palliative care organisations. It is a global action network designed to focus exclusively on hospiceand palliative care development worldwide.

The need for the WPCA
Hospice and palliative care is still unavailable to many of those in need, especially in the developing world. Only 15% of the world’s countries have hospice and palliative care that is integrated with general healthcare. Over 100 million patients and family carers need palliative care annually, and at best the WPCA estimates that only 7% receive it.
Hospice and palliative care associations worldwide have formed the WPCA to meet this need. The WPCA will provide a representative voice to promote hospice and palliative care on the international stage.

You can read more about membership of the WPCA by downloading the attached brochure.
