MAHAK was registered in 1991 under number 6567 and was set up as a non profit, non-governmental organization. MAHAK has been active from that day on in helping children with cancer and their families.
MAHAK's Pediatric Cancer Hospital and Research Centre was completed in 2003 with 120 beds equipped to accommodate patients accompanied by one member of the family.

Małopolska's Hospice for Children (MHD) in Cracow is a foundation which has been in existence since 2006. Fourty terminally ill children are under the care of MHD . MHD also cares for patients and their families in their homes. MHD is the first polish hospice to build the first Respite Care Centre for Incurably Ill Children.

When opened in 1987, Martin House became the second children's hospice in the UK. Since that time we have played a leading role in the development and delivery of children's hospice care. This continued with the opening of Whitby Lodge in 2002, the UK's first unit for teenagers and young people.

MASKEY is an organisation which started in 2003, to help the community of uMlazi. It deals with children infected and affected by HIV/ AIDS, TB patients, orphans and hungry people. Our aim is to transform HIV/ AIDS people from being victims into survivors. MASKEY has very dedicated volunteers and Care givers who have alot of passion for their job and who work with compassion. Merimna provides, free of charge, three types of services: a) Individual, family and group support to children and adolescents who grieve the loss of a significant person, or who are themselves seriously ill or have a family member suffering from a life-threatening illness, b) crisis and disaster interventions at community level, and c) pediatric palliative home care services to families wishing to care for their seriouly ill child or adolescent at home. Moreover, Merimna offers lectures and seminars in order to raise public awareness on issues related to death and dying, as well as specialised training programs for health professionals.
