Introduction to the course and children's palliative care

Welcome to the ICPCN's e-learning programme

What is the programme about?
This programme looks at different aspects of children's palliative care. Following a brief introduction to children's palliative care, there are discrete courses (and modules) which can be taken in any order, although it is advised to take them in the order in which they are presented. Some resources and a glossary of terms has been included for the programme and each course ends with a multiple choice assessment. We have also provided some guidelines for clinical placement for each course and encourage participants to combine clinical with theoretical training.

Who is the course aimed at?
The training is aimed at anyone working in children's palliative care, however the different modules may be more appropriate for some people rather than others e.g. doctors, clinical officers and nurses. or counsellors, social workers, teachers, etc.

How do I register for the course?
You do not need to register for the courses, however please complete your name and address when accessing each of the modules, along with the country where you work and your email address. This is important information for ICPCN to assess who is utilising the programme.

Will the course be evaluated?
There is an evaluation form at the end of each course - we would appreciate it if you could complete these evaluation forms so that we can get your feedback on the course and continually try and improve it.

Will I get a certificate?
On successful completion and passing of the assessment of the different courses, participants will receive a certificate of completion from ICPCN within 2 weeks.

Please note, if you do not include your name and email address you will not receive a certificate. We hope that you find the programme helpful and look forward to receiving your feedback.
