Communicating with children and emotional issues
What is the course about?
This course looks at communicating with children and dealing with emotional issues in children. Following a brief introduction to the programme, there are discrete modules which can be taken in any order, although it is advised to take them in the order in which they are presented. The course ends with a multiple choice assessment. We have also provided some guidelines for clinical placement and encourage participants to combine clinical with theoretical training.
Who is the course aimed at?
The course is aimed at anyone working with children with palliative care needs e.g. doctors, clinical officers, nurses, counsellors, social workers, teachers, etc.
How do I register for the course?
You do not need to register for the course, however please complete your name and address when accessing each of the modules, along with the country where you work and your email address. This is important information for evaluating the pilot programme.
Will the course be evaluated?
There is an evaluation form at the end of the course - we would appreciate it if you could complete the evaluation form so that we can get your feedback on the course and continually try and improve it.
Will I get a certificate?
On successful completion of the course and passing of the assessment participants will receive a certificate of completion from ICPCN within two weeks. Please note, if you do not include your name and email address you will not receive a certificate.
What if my internet speed is slow?
If you have slow internet speed then it is possible to access a low-resolution format of the training, although you will still need to be able to access the assessment in order ro complete the course and receive the certificate. (Please click here to access the low-resolution materials)
